Something we’re big on here at DHM is acknowledging not just in our set-up decks that today’s consumers are savvy, sceptical and in control, but also in our actual work too.
Which means engaging them like fellow adults who know what’s what, and not like kids who might believe anything.
But I doubt there are even many kids who would believe the latest campaign for Reed, the employment agency.
It is attempting to have us believe that the jobs to be found through its website are so fulfilling that they won’t just be better than your last one, they will be better than the weekend itself – that thanks to the jobs available through Reed, Monday is now the new Friday.
So alright then, let’s put it to the test.
- If you’re reading this on a Monday, are you glad that horrible weekend thing is out of the way for another week?
- If you’re reading this on a Wednesday, are you secretly wishing you could put the clock back 48 hours?
- If you’re reading this on a Friday, are you cursing that it’s not Monday instead?
No, no I didn’t think so.
No job, for most normal people, can make you feel that way.
As the Americans like to say, that’s why they call it work.
There’s a world of consumers out there ready for a grown-up conversation about work.
But is there a job site grown-up enough to have it with them?
