Being a world class hoarder,
I’m often berated for taking up so much loft space with boxes
and boxes of magazines,
My defence is always the same – ‘They’re useful,
you never know when you might need one’.
Today I’ve found a use I hadn’t thought of.
Paul Arden died.
To me he was simply the best Art Director. Full stop.
In his hands he could make the ordinary look extraordinary.
But unusually, the extraordinary always looked effortless.
That’s tough.
It’s almost a contradiction.
But he did time after time after time.
And from a distance taught me a hell of a lot.
