I recently got back from a trip to Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
What strikes most people when they visit these places is the incredible speed and scale of development, the ostentatious display of wealth, the desert bling, and so on.
What struck me was the ubiquity of unremittingly awful corporate slogans.
Everywhere I turned there was another toe-curling piece of corporate puffery to assault my senses; on building sites, road sides, taxis – even at the airport on the way home there was to be no respite…
Has the region developed a software program that churns out corporate pablum?
Or is the UAE where B2B hacks now go to die?
