Came across this again yesterday in a book I was reading…
It took my breath away.
I was struck like never before by the clarity, the brevity, the rhythm, the precision.
On those four criteria it’s almost as glorious as ‘this man said it’s gruesome that someone so handsome should care’.
(Wasn’t that written around 1984 too? Must have been something in the air.)
Can anyone think of a two liner that beats it?
